Westminster Dog Show 2020 Live : Westminster’s traditional breed competition continues Monday and Tuesday at Pier 94 in New York. The Westminster Kennel Club says 2,630 dogs will be competing in the breed show, representing 204 breeds. Best in show will be named Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.
The dog, who is named after the pop star, shot like a pinball through an obstacle course of weave poles, hurdles, rings and tunnels to take the victory.
“Get the Party Started,” P!nk’s 2001 hit song, cued up on the loudspeakers to celebrate the dog’s win at Pier 94 in New York.
P!nk is something of a veteran agility competitor. She won the 16-inch agility class for the third year in a row alongside her owner, Jennifer Crank.
The border collie made her mad dash in just 29.35 seconds, a Westminster best for P!ink after she had a run of 29.78 seconds in 2018.
Crank, who has been at P!nk’s side for every win, runs IncrediPAWS Dog Training in Pataskala, Ohio.
Agility, the first part of the 144th Westminster Kennel Club dog show, is the most lively event of Westminster Week, requiring dogs to quickly navigate a series of obstacles as their owners run alongside them, giving direction and encouragement. The competition was added to the traditional breed show in 2014. The sport requires a strong connection between dog and owner.
Agility is one of only two parts of the dog show to incorporate mixed-beed dogs, which the Westminster Kennel Club call “all-American dogs” (the other is the Westminster Masters Obedience Championship).
